LUCY

Lucy is a beautiful 6 year old female who needs a foster home right away.

She is a very loving, independent and strong minded girl who will make you laugh with her shenanigans.

She loves the company of humans more than her  fellow canines, although she is not opposed to enjoying the company of a nice 4 legged fellow as long as he knows his way around the ladies. And he doesn't overstay his welcome. The Lady needs her beauty sleep and she is not about to share her house with just anyone. In fact she is one of those modern girls who like their independence and would rather cuddle with her humans one on one.

She is very active and athletic, indeed a physique to die for and she likes to be noticed.

She has been down on her luck lately through no fault of her own. Lucy would love to find a forever home with someone who will understand that queens are not born, but made, and will treat her accordingly.

BRUCE

OK, you humans owe me one! Here’s the story: A nice elderly couple decides they want to adopt me. The woman is kind of dog savvy, the man, not so much. So they make the brilliant decision to bring me home when the woman is out of town on a business trip. Bad move. Mr Clueless isn’t even sure from which end I eat and which end does all the stinky stuff.

Hint, hint, the end with the little wagging nub is not the end to kiss. Although in this case, I might be inclined to make an exception.

Needless to say, I was returned back to the rescue before the wife even returned from her trip. Next time, please ask for my input in these matters. I would have recommended a Toy Poodle had I been consulted.

Yeah, I know, we’re supposed to be the clowns of the dog world, but sometimes you two leggers bring out my feisty side. All I’m really looking for is someone who has had dogs before and knows that a Boxer is not a Chihuahua. Sure, I’m big and kind of goofy, and I love to have a good time, but I’m actually a pretty easy going chap once you get to know me.

So give a call, and you’ll be personally screened by yours truly.

xoxo Bruce

FRANCISCO is adopted!

Rarely have the words "FINALLY HOME" meant so much to me as they did friday night when I drove Francisco to his forever home. Over the long holiday weekend I kept repeating to myself "Francisco is home, Francisco is home"... as if somehow I could not quite grasp the full meaning of what had just happened. Francisco meant a great deal to all of us at Sachi Animal Rescue: he was the one who had been behind bars the longest, the one we had to fight for tooth and nail to get out of his prison at a local rescue and in the process he became the symbol of our commitment and dedication. It was a long, painful and sometimes devastating journey we took along with him, leaving severed relationships and destroyed friendships behind us, and yet it was all along a journey worth taking because none of us ever lost sight of the ultimate prize.

Over the years placing "long timers", one constant remains: canine knows best. When that one person shows up for them, the one they have been waiting for, they always know before we do. It is that magical moment that is few and far between but oh so worth waiting for. No matter how many times they have been introduced to people and failed to get placed, there is that one person out there that they know will eventually make its way to them. The dogs never give up hope and neither should we. It is a testament to their resilience and incredible spirit that they are able to leave their difficult past behind and move on joyfully to the next chapter of their lives, no matter how old, how "damaged", how neglected. Francisco waited over 5 years to find Susan and Pablo but when he did, there was nothing more natural and beautiful than the bond he immediately forged with the ones he can now call "His Humans" Indeed, Francisco is Home!
