** new SAR dog "BLAKE"

Blake was saved from certain death in a high-kill shelter. We were able to pull him just in time. Like most shelter dogs, he came down with kennel cough which will be cured within a couple of days. Once he is 100% he will have to get neutered. Meanwhile we are spending time with him to see what kind of dog he is. He seems to be very gentle. Stay tuned for more ...

Charlotte is adopted!

new SAR dog "LANDON"

This is Landon from Baldwin Park. He is a beautiful 10 month old fawn male. His previous owner adopted him from Baldwin
Shelter in March only to return him in June. The problem is that his owners not only turned him back in to Baldwin, they put him on death row by saying he was aggressive. Because of this charge, until he was temperament tested, the public could not interact with him. When I couldn't visit with him, a wonderful Baldwin shelter employee went in Landon's run. The worker messed with Landon to get a reaction. Nothing, just tail wags. The worker even stuck his hand in Landon's mouth. Again nothing. Landon passed his temperament
test. A video is made with Landon and a Baldwin Shelter volunteer showing what a great dog Landon is. So we try to adopt Landon. It's difficult because he is only allowed to go to Rescue (on LA County approved list) and head of rescue must sign a waiver. Sheilah of Mutt Match LA stepped in and helped us. Thank you Sheilah, we are grateful! (Sachi has applied to County and we are waiting for approval.) Landon has been a sweetheart with me since the get-go. He was well behaved in the car. He was a little love bunny when I got to pet and interact with him. This "aggressive" dog loves belly rubs. We will do a thorough evaluation of Landon. My guess is that Landon is just fine.

new SAR dog "Charlotte"

Charlotte and her sister were dumped at a shelter by their owner. They begged him with their eyes to take them back home but the owner had other plans. He shuffed Charlotte in a holding cage, turn around and left her. Charlotte's sister was put down and the rescue community circulate Charlotte on FACEBOOK to find a rescue to save her.

It seems she has been a yard dog all her life. She has concrete burns on her buns and scars on her head. She lived with another female and so we think, she will be good with another dog. She is currently waiting for somebody to show her the nicer side of life. She never had much, so anything warm and soft will bring her a lot of joy. She is the kind of dog that will blossom when she finally finds a family that will love her and never let her go.

Gus needed to see a specialist for his eyes. Turns out he is blind on one eye.

Baxter has a broken toe

Our handsome BAXTER is not a very happy camper these days. Vet found out that his limping was caused by a broken toe. Now he has to be in a cast for a while.

Current hospitalized dogs:

FREDERICK (he has been hospitalized with high fever and pain in the joints) - diagnosis still outstanding.

CINDY (Intra Pelvic Bladder)- she is going to make a full recovery after the $2,500 surgery. We think it's money well spend.

new SAR dog 'BINDI"

Bindi is a beautiful fawn Boxer girl with dark mask. She was a stray and saved by a very nice woman who is fostering her. Bindi is a year old youngster, (or there about) who is in search of a home. She originally didn't seem to like men but last time she met a man she was perfectly fine. She is good with other dogs, kids and here is the big one, cats too!! She is having some problem with chickens in foster home so probably no farm life for this girl. She is a young thing that has no formal training but wants to please. She crates well. She is a small girl who has natural tail and ears. Many of the amenities she is living with at foster home seem foreign to her but she is accepting and grateful for everything including food and water. Bindi will need to be spayed. She is up to date with vaccines Summer is the best time to bring a new fur friend into the family, so don't delay ;)

ADOPTED ! Bosco is almost home

Just one more de-wormer and puppy vaccination, and BOSCO is going home to his new mommy Jaclyn who can hardly wait!

new SAR dog "CHASE"

more to come ...

new SAR dog "CINDY"

Cindy is a beautiful, sweet brindle girl - 1 year old. She comes from the Oregon coast.

She is thought to have a condition called Intra Pelvic Bladder. The surgery is estimated to cost around $2500. Because of this, owner wanted to euthanize her. Cindy's vet, a boxer lover, intervened and contacted rescues.
She is with us now. She is a sweet happy girl and I cannot imagine her euthanized. But $2500 is a lot of money for us too, and we must raise the fund to pay for her medical expense.

Please help by donating to Sachi Animal Rescue. We have a "Donate" PayPal button on our home page:
http://www.sachianimalrescue.com

Please indicate the donation is for Cindy. We are non-profit and the donation is tax deductible. Thank you so much.

He is a hunka hunka of burnin love.

Sadie is a very bouncy, happy little girl that we saved from the shelter. She needs some time to recover from her spay and settle down. She will be evaluated soon and is available for adoption shortly after.

new SAR dog " COOKIE "

This little COOKIE here has magical powers. She uses her sad, big eyes to lure you in and then she take possession of your heart. new SAR dog "DIXIE"

Why a healthy, beautiful purebred Boxer puppy ends up in the shelter, I will never understand.
But everything happens for a reason. Dixie is meant to live with a family that will cherish her all her life.
She is only 10 mos. old. She is a typical bouncy, playful puppy and she will need some basic puppy training which is an excellent way to bond with your new dog plus it is so much fun to learn together.
Dixie will be going into a foster home first and will be evaluated before she can go into her new permanent home.

SAR's newest addition

Meet BOSCO, a 10-12 wks. old Lab-mix. He is not neutered but that day will come sooner than later. Little Bosco is in a foster home with dogs and a little child and is doing fine. He is starting to learn a few things and he is looking forward to impress a mommy/daddy with his new tricks. Bosco is a very loving and attentive little guy and from what we can tell, he seems to have brains too!

new SAR dog "BEAR"

Bear is a German Shepard mix. He is about 2 years old. He is a very handsome b...oy with good manners. He knows some commands, sit and paw. He loves going on long walks and hikes. He is a big boy but behaves well on leash. He hasn't been tested with other dogs off leash yet but shows no signs of dog aggression. He is good with people.

new SAR dog PHYLLIS

Phyllis is named after Phyllis Diller's crazy hair. If she was a male, she'd be ...Gary Busey. Phyllis is a Yorkie and Terrier mix female weighing about 4 pounds. She is cute as a button and would fit nicely in a canine purse. She'd love to travel with you where ever you go. She is only about 8 months old and great with people. Phyllis is fairly quiet and not a big barker. She needs to be spayed and brought up to date with shots. This will all be done prior to adoption.

new SAR dog "RAIDER"

Raider is an adorable 9 month old boxer puppy. He is fawn, black mask, with a be...autiful smush face. He is very sweet, somewhat timid right now. He currently has kennel cough after spending 3 weeks in a high killl shelter waiting for his owners. His owners found him and visited him at least once, but never came to take him back home. He is great with people and other dogs. Even with kennel cough and buggies coming out of that cute nose, he still managed to give kennel manager Mary Ann a play bow. He is a bit shell shocked from his stay at the shelter but his personality will blossom once he feels better and is in a forever home. But it is clear, Raider's middle name is Play.

SAR's GUS went to the vet

Gus went to see our infamous Dr Galea on friday for a full check up. He ended up... spending the night at the luxurious clinic and went into surgery on saturday morning. We did not spare any expenses for this fantastic little guy. Chest Xrays are clear, blood panel is perfect, heart is beating just right and ultrasound was good, although he does have an enlarged prostate which is common in senior dogs. Dr Galea does not think this is anything to worry about. He was sedated for removal of the large growth on his palate and in the process was also neutered. Turned out one of his testicles was hard and enlarged so we sent it for biopsy as well as the growth removed from his mouth. Results are pending. Everything went well and our boy woke up at about 1 pm, ready to go. I picked him up along with Mr wonderful, aka Zakai, who had an introduction scheduled with a wonderful family. Then my little bulldozer, as I like to call Gus, went back to his amazing foster home, and when I say amazing, I mean amazing.... Be aware potential adopters of Gus the Bull that along with a clean bill of health, he will travel with his own journal, that Lisa, his foster mom, keeps updating daily. Any person would be lucky to have such a special boy in their lives. He gets along with Lisa's 2 magnificent boxers, Onyx and Brianna, and loves nothing more than to be inside their lovely home and snooze or snore away. Gus is one of the ultimate combo, bulldog/boxer, check out these pictures...

MAX OROVILLE is adopted!

Karen, congratulations on an adoption job well done! Max is so sweet!! Here are ...a few photos of Max in his new home. He and Mark get along famously. Great match! Mark and Max were introduced in the parking lot of a Denny's in the rain. Didn't take long for Mark to decide that handsome Max was the one for him. Max rides well in the car just sitting in back with a chew toy. A few times he tried to creep his way into the front seat. At his new home, Max didn't even care about the cat... he was just happy to be in a loving environment with lots of treats. With the right training, Max is going to be the most obedient and gracious dog. Mark is certainly up to the training and looking forward to bonding with Max.

BUGSY is adopted!

Nutmeg is adopted!

Just wanted to give you a quick update! Stella is a spitfire! She and Jak are doing GREAT! This morning she successfully slept through the night and then went outside with us and took care of her business....yesterday was a bit tought, but everything is so new for her!
She is a real confident little ...girl and just loves being around Jak. She's not afraid of anything (except the dark a little bit). She looks up to him, will sleep next to him and just wants to run around playing with her toys all day. Jak is taking on the fatherly role and resides himself to the fact that she is just so young and silly.
I'll send you more updates and pics once we get through this finals week :)

**new SAR dog "PEBBLES"

This is Pebbles break-out video from the shelter. Thanks to Jackie and Celeste!

SAR's NUTMEG is ready for her new home

Nutmeg is one of seven puppies. They were the money makers of a breeder. When they came down with parvo, he took the sickest ones to the vet and asked to euthanize them.

Melissa is very experienced when it comes to parvo and had them signed over. She treated them and one of the survivors is ... NUTMEG.

She is well and healthy now. Ready to start her life, again, with a loving family til death parts them.

Rescue Mission "PEPE & CHATE"

What would you do if two of your best friends had dedicated their livesto protect you and your business? What would you do if you lost saidbusiness and had to vacate the property? Would you take your dogswith you? This is what every sensible person would do. Unfortunatelythis is not always the case.Meet “PEPE” & “CHATA”, a father-daughter Rottweiler team who whereabandoned by their owner in this junk yard. Believe it, this is their home!

They were left without food & water to fend for themselves behindthese bars.

During business hours this is where they were kept, in a boarded upmakeshift pen where they could barely turn around, with dirtycardboard in lieu of bedding.

At night they had a job to do, roaming and protecting the yard. Thiswas their life. This is all they knew of the world.Under those circumstances you would expect these two dogs to beresentful, withdrawn and probably aggressive. Well, you would bewrong! “Pepe” & “Chata” who have probably never known the touch of a gentle hand and a warm loving environment are not only friendly butwelcoming, playful and loving

Some good Samaritans discovered the two abandoned dogs thismorning and decided to change the course of their lives. Instead of walking away or calling Animal Control (where they would have surelybeen euthanized due to their drastic physical appearance), theybrought food and contacted rescues.

We went to evaluate them this afternoon, and to our surprise foundwarm and friendly dogs eventhough their medical condition needs tobe addressed immediately. Besides the usual spay/neuter, vaccination,micro-chipping, we need to raise funds for their underlying skincondition which is anyone’s guess at this point. They are covered withsores and concrete burns and probably are ridden with parasites and vermin.

As rescuers, we can not walk away especially when we know that thereis a home out there which will be able to give them the life and lovethey deserve.Father and daughter are extremely bonded. After all, all they had wasonly each other for so long. We need help with raising funds for theirmedical issues and temporary boarding fees.

Please look in the eyes of these two abandoned dogs and find it in yourheart to donate to their critical care. The path to their recovery andfuture is clear. They will get the attention, both medically andemotionally, that they so sorely missed.Again, we can not stress enough that those two Rotties are gentle, friendly and, considering their circumstances, trustworthy! Please help Sachi Animal Rescue help them!

You can donate directlyto their names “Pepe” & “Chata”, or donate directly to our Veterinarian ofchoice, for  their  treatment.
